Hello everyone!
I would just like to start off by apologising for not releasing Blogs in August, there’s a very good explanation for that, since our return we have been rushed off our feet attending meetings in person and virtually, we have also been communicating with many people about potential events and activities.
So, what have we been up to?
That’s a very good question, over the past two months myself and Alexander have been re-establishing Medway Youth Climate Change Movement (MYCCM) and Reconnecting with our many Contacts and Creating Many new contacts.
So, Let’s go back to what we did in August!
23rd Of August 2021- we held a meeting with Medway Youth Service, Medway Youth Council and Medway Councils Climate Change Team to discuss a Group Collaboration To work on Climate Change/Environmental Projects in Medway, this was so beneficial and together we came up with so many potential Projects. This is a great way to join forces and work on issues together, we look forward to working with all involved to continue this Important work. If you’re a young person and want to get involved with this, feel free to contact us so we can give you more information about how to get involved and what exactly it is we’re working on!
31st of August 2021- we were invited to a climate change meeting by Medway Trades Union Council about a Kent Coalition Hub, where we heard from and spoke to people from all over Kent, we discussed plans for the week of COP26 and potential Events we could run, it was decided that we would hold protests all at the same time in different districts within Kent, with Us being in Medway we will be taking lead on the Protests in the Local Area, we encourage all Climate Change/ECO/Environmental Groups or people with an interest, Especially the youth, to have their input in the Planning to really accomplish a successful event and to inspire others.
They’re just two of our larger meetings we had, we’re really pleased to be back and working on such an important topic
So, Let’s Get on to what we’ve done so far in September
3rd of September 2021- we were kindly invited to the Medway Youth Council Full Council Meeting, where we presented a Power Point about MYCCM and to tell them about all the many things we’re currently working on, it was a pleasure to talk to all their members and to hear how they’re doing after almost 2 years since we last presented to them, we look forward to the continued work with them! Special thanks to Michael the Chair of MYC for Inviting us, you’re doing a great Job chairing the Youth Council!
8th of September 2021- we attended the first “Child Friendly Medway City Hall”, it was a lovely evening and so informative, we really enjoyed getting to speak to different groups of People From all over Medway, and to see what issues the Youth feel need to be tackled in Medway, it was so great to see the amount of People Concerned about the environment, especially the lack of bins! We look forward to the next one where hopefully we can talk to even more people about Concerns in Medway. We’d like to thank everyone involved in Organising it, well done!
This is just the start of our return there is so much more coming which we are really pleased to be working on.
So, what Exactly is coming up?
