We Are The Change!
Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. Medway Youth Climate Change Movement emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Founded in July 2019, MYCCM is a grassroots youth movement driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support. Originally, founded by four local teenagers all with a passion for climate change, MYCCM flourished as one of Medway's leading voices on the issue of climate change. We host events to raise awareness and are well known within our community who are at the centre of everything we do. We have the support of local MP's, councillors and community figures. We connect with various organisations and charities to ensure the needs of our young people are met and to sign-post any one involved with MYCCM to relevant help when they need it. Since our founding in 2000, Medway Youth Climate Change Movement has developed and grown in a positive direction. Alexander Jordan (Board Director)
Director Of Operations
Alexander is one of the four founding members of MYCCM. Over the last 2 years, Alex has dedicated his free time into growing MYCCM, which led to him becoming a finalist in the Pride In Medway Awards 2022. He has a huge passion for Climate Change and has lots of experience and skills within the voluntary sector which allows him to successfully lead our team. Alex oversees MYCCM's operations and you are most likely to meet him greeting people at events. He regularly has meetings with local politicians, trade unionists and other senior community figures, spearheading youth's fight for climate change in Medway. Being in charge of operations means Alex is involved with everything MYCCM does. His extensive knowledge of politics, both locally and nationally, as well as his passion for public speaking, helps to drive MYCCM to ensure our message is heard.
